Kendriya Vidyalaya Raksha Vihar Kanpur is located in defence colony, Shyam Nagar, under the jurisdiction of Controller DGQA namely Brigadier M.D.Singh It is 5 Km. from Kanpur Railway Station. Principal of the Vidyalaya is R.B.Mishra .Vidyalaya is having overall strength of 22 including all category of employees.Vidyalaya is running in the temporary building provided by the sponsoring authority w.e.f April,2003.Vidyalaya is running upto X Std. Vidyalaya is not having building of its own due to non-completion of land transfer from sponsoring authority to KVS.

Our mision
KVS has a four fold mission viz:-
- To cater to the educational needs of children of transferable Central Government employees including defence and para military personnel by providing a common programme of education.
- To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school education.
- To initiate and promote experimentations and innovations in education in collaboration with other bodies like CBSE, NCERT, etc.
- To develop the spirit of national integration and create a sense of “Indianness” among children.
